The Chinnaswamy Stadium saw its first Test between India and West Indies in 1974/75 with a predictable outcome - Windies winning by 267 runs! India were reduced to nine men in the field after Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Faroukh Engineer got injured. India had a famous victory to its name here when it defeated Tony Greig's led English side by 140 runs in 1976-77. Pakistan defeated India here in 1986/87 by a slender margin of 16 runs. The stadium got its floodlights during the 1996 World Cup.
